Diploma Programme

D.Pharm — Diploma in Pharmacy

The Diploma in Pharmacy is a two-year, practice-oriented programme that prepares you for the everyday work of a pharmacist — dispensing, patient counselling, drug store and hospital pharmacy management. It is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and the Govt. of Maharashtra, and affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE).

Teaching combines classroom lectures in our smart and e-classrooms with regular laboratory practice, and college transport takes students for hospital visits and clinical training.

Running your own medical store as a registered pharmacist
Progression to the B.Pharm degree for higher study

10+2 with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics) from a recognised board, as per PCI and MSBTE norms.

Degree Programme

B.Pharm — Bachelor of Pharmacy

The Bachelor of Pharmacy is a four-year degree that builds a complete foundation in pharmaceutical science — pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy — supported by department-wise laboratories and a well-stocked library of Indian and international texts. The programme is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and the Govt. of Maharashtra.

Research laboratories and clinical research
Postgraduate study through the M.Pharm route

Kama Medical College plans to extend into medical education as the next stage of the Vidyanagari Campus. Details of the MBBS programme — duration, intake, eligibility and fees — will be announced only after the statutory approvals are in place. Until then, no admissions are being taken for this course.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between D.Pharm and B.Pharm?

D.Pharm is a two-year diploma focused on the practice of pharmacy — it is the shorter route to registering as a pharmacist and working in community or hospital pharmacy. B.Pharm is a four-year degree that goes deeper into pharmaceutical science and opens careers in industry, quality control, regulatory affairs and research, as well as postgraduate study. Many students begin with D.Pharm and later progress to B.Pharm.

Does the college provide hostel accommodation?

Yes. The campus currently has a girls' hostel with spacious rooms, attached mess halls serving North and South Indian food, wardens on duty and 24-hour security. Please contact the college office for the latest information on hostel availability before admission.

How do I apply for admission?

Admissions for the 2025–26 session are open for both D.Pharm and B.Pharm. You can begin with the online registration form on our Admissions page, or visit the admission office at Vidyanagari Campus, Shahapur — students and parents are welcome for enquiries on any working day.

How do I reach the campus?

The college is at Vidyanagari Campus, Kambare, on the Shahapur–Kinhavali Road (next to MSEDC) in Thane district, and is located close to both the Shahapur bus stand and the railway station. The college also runs its own buses and vans for students, including transport for hospital visits during clinical training. See the Contact page for the map and directions.
